Sandy Stern is a
gifted children's entertainer who has had a career on the stage and
in television. She was born in England and grew up in New York. Her
Graduation speech at Calhoun in NYC included a passage on loving all
animals. At Vassar College, she co-produced and rewrote a musical
play about an Elephant.
After working at
Ziff Davis Publishing Co. in Manhattan, she moved to Calgary where
she became Canada's very 1st Romper Room Hostess. She later created,
produced and performed several children's TV programs.
Her love of animals
and the horror she feels for how they are mistreated prompted
her to embark on the children's project FRIENDIMALS™, which
features stories and songs about our endangered animal friends.
Sandy is also a songwriter and she has
produced and performed many of her songs on her TV programs. All
of the music for the FRIENDIMALS™ project is the property of
FRIENDIMALS™ MARKETING INC.
Sandy has had 5 children,
several dogs, birds, hamsters and strays. Her 8 grandchildren call
her "Grandy" or "witchy- poo". She lives in
Vancouver, British Columbia, and enjoys spending time in Ecuador.
