Woof!! Woof!! Hello! I'm a dog. My name is Indy and I am a beautiful, black, flat coated retriever (mostly). Everyone says I have a beautiful face, but I am kind of chunky. I'm four years old and I have been spayed. My human loves me to pieces and I am very spoiled, although I am not greedy and eat only dog food. I live in a nice house and I'm not allowed on the furniture , only on my human's bed. I only bark at strangers and other dogs who bark at me. I love to go on walks and hikes. I have many human friends and I get along with other dogs.

There is this strange little fluffy white thing that often stays at our house and I think she is a dog, too! She is called Coco and is very small. Sometimes I knock her over with my tail. She is also very spoiled and likes to be carried around. I wish I could be carried around, too, but then again, Coco can't run up mountain trails like me.

CAN YOU IMAGINE how many domestic animals and beloved pets have disappeared and are starving? Like babies, we are not able to look after ourselves.

I wasn't always as happy as I am today. I was born in Alberta where I was kicked around and abused. Then I was left with a family who was nice, but had too many dogs to care for. They gave me to my human before my 1st birthday, Was I ever lucky! I had all my shots and was spayed so I would grow up healthy and strong. Yes, I am a very lucky and happy doggie. There are so many other pets who do not receive good care.

Like the animals of the wild, not caring for our comforts and being tolerant of our needs is very upsetting. Wild animals need their space and domestic animals need their homes. I've never met an orangutan or a kangaroo- I would probably hide under the bed, but I do know that mistreating ALL animals is very ba-a-d. Gr-rr-GR-RR!!!

There is NOTHING worse than animal abuse, NOTHING!!

My favorite pastime is to go for walks and sniff. I adore the off-leash parks and mountain trails.

My special hobbies are chasing squirrels in the fall and winter, geese in the spring and cats all year round. Lucky for them, they are faster than me!!!

My pet peeves are skateboards and motorcycles - and yes I do bark at them and try to chase them away. My human doesn't like that, but I can't help myself.

Next time you hear from me, I'll tell you more about the similarities and differences between animals of the wild and pets for the family. All baby animals are really cute and precious, but when they get older they can all be a handful, like so many humans we know!!!

Love and licks!!!
